About Us
The ultimate goal of the Recreation Wish List Committee/Southeast Tennis and Learning Center is to STAND IN THE GAP for our students in order to address systemic disparities affecting our scholars and their families. With that in mind, the goal of RWLC is to level the playing field which will give at-promise children the tools and opportunity to become contributing members of their community and society.
The Center
In 2001, the RWLC and the District of Columbia’s Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) opened the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center (SETLC). Located in Southeast Washington in the heart of Ward 8, the SETLC is a combination tennis facility and educational center, complete with classrooms, a computer lab, sewing center, library, tennis courts and a fitness room. The programs primarily serve the children and youth of Wards 8 and 7.
